Sweet Pepper Chilli Sauce

I absolutely love this sauce. And my family love it too so it never lasts long. I love it with leftover roast chicken.


  • 1 long red chilli

  • 2 red peppers, seeded and chopped

  • 1cm fresh ginger, grated

  • 4 fresh pitted dates

  • 1cm fresh turmeric or 1/2 tsp ground

  • 1 lime, juiced

  • 1tsp olive oil

  • Small handful fresh coriander or basil (optional) salt and pepper to taste


  1. Put all the ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth.

NOTE - this sauce is even better if you roast the peppers in a hot oven for 30 minutes first.  Remove the blackened skins and use the flesh in the sauce. 🌶 add more chilli if you dare!
