BBQ Baharat Chicken

This spicy Baharat chicken recipe is just another take on my chicken tikka recipe on my website but using Baharat spice mix instead of curry powder.

Baharat (which means “spices” in Arabic) is a spice blend used in Middle Eastern (especially the Arabian Gulf region) and Greek cuisine. Typical Baharat seasoning ingredients include allspice, chilli peppers, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, cumin, nutmeg, and peppercorns.

I particularly love this @steenbergsltd organic version. It’s great with chicken, fish and roasted chickpeas.

To make the marinade for this just substitute the curry powder for 2 heaped tablespoons of Baharat, 1 tsp ground cumin and 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper. Here I also used boneless chicken pieces instead from @pipersfarm
