What is the Comprehensive Blood Profile?

Standard NHS blood tests are designed to detect disease, not to identify the functional patterns that cause symptoms long before a clinical diagnosis would apply. The Comprehensive Blood Profile includes the markers that fall into the gap: fasting insulin, which reveals insulin resistance years before diabetes develops; Free T3 alongside TSH, which shows how well thyroid hormone is actually converting; thyroid antibodies, which identify autoimmune thyroid involvement; full iron studies, including ferritin, which affects energy and hair; hs-CRP for systemic inflammation; and a complete metabolic, liver, kidney, Vitamin D and cholesterol panel.

It is the most thorough blood picture available outside of a specialist hospital setting, and it gives us the clearest possible foundation from which to build your plan.

What’s included

  • Comprehensive blood panel including markers not routinely offered by the NHS
  • Key markers include: fasting insulin, Free T3, thyroid antibodies (TPO and TgAb), hs-CRP, full iron studies including ferritin, GGT, uric acid, pancreatic enzymes, phosphate and creatine kinase, alongside complete metabolic, thyroid, liver, kidney, Vitamin D and cholesterol profiles
  • 60-minute Zoom results consultation in which your results are explained in full and actionable next steps are agreed

What is involved

Blood is drawn at a Randox clinic near you. Once your test is booked, you will receive details of your nearest approved collection point. Fasting for 12 hours before your blood draw is required for accurate metabolic and cardiovascular markers.

Results are sent directly to your practitioner. Your 60-minute results consultation covers the most clinically relevant findings, what they mean for your current symptoms, and what to prioritise next. Where a more comprehensive clinical picture is needed, your practitioner will advise on the most appropriate next step, whether that is additional testing or a full health assessment consultation.

This test is often a strong first step, particularly for women who are not yet sure which area to investigate further. It provides a broad, evidence-based snapshot from which a clearer direction often emerges.
