What is the DUTCH Complete hormone test?
The DUTCH Test UK stands for Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones. It measures metabolites of your reproductive and adrenal hormones from a dried urine sample, making it easy to complete at home at any time, including when travelling.
What it reveals goes far beyond what a GP blood test can offer: not just your hormone levels, but how your body is processing and clearing them, which oestrogen detox pathways you favour, how your cortisol rhythm behaves across the day, and whether nutrient markers such as glutathione, B vitamins and melatonin are influencing your symptoms. This is the test I recommend most often because it answers the questions that keep being left unanswered.

- Lab analysis by our DUTCH-registered practitioners
- 90-minute results consultation in which your results are explained in plain English and a bespoke plan is built around exactly what we find, covering diet, supplements, lifestyle and HRT where relevant
- 15-minute follow-up check-in within four weeks to review progress and answer questions
What does the DUTCH test UK involve?
You collect five urine samples across 24 hours using the filter paper cards included in your kit. The process is straightforward and can be done at home or while travelling. Once the samples are dry, you post them to the lab using the pre-paid return envelope provided.
Results are sent directly to your practitioner, who analyses them in full before your results consultation. At that session, your PCH practitioner will take you through everything: what the numbers mean for your specific symptoms, what is driving them and what to do about it. You leave with a clear, personalised plan.
If you are on HRT, this test measures how your body is metabolising it, which is critical for optimising dose, delivery method and form. If your symptoms have persisted despite a normal blood test or ongoing HRT, this is almost certainly the right next step.
Who is the DUTCH hormone test UK right for?
This test is right for you if you are on oestrogen HRT, post-menopausal, or experiencing symptoms only in the second half of your cycle. It is also the correct test if you have the Mirena coil and are on oestrogen HRT.
Morning anxiety or racing heart
Mid-morning energy crash
Sustained high stress
Suspected burnout
Dread before the day has started
Normal bloods, still symptomatic
Cortisol as the primary concern

What is the DUTCH hormone test UK and what does it measure?
The DUTCH Test UK stands for Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones. It measures the metabolites of your reproductive and adrenal hormones from a dried urine sample, showing not just your hormone levels but how your body is producing, processing and clearing them. It also assesses cortisol rhythm, oestrogen detox pathways and key nutrient markers including glutathione, B vitamins and melatonin.
How is the DUTCH Complete Test different from a standard blood test?
A standard blood test captures a single snapshot of your hormone levels at one moment in time. The DUTCH hormone test UK maps how your hormones behave across the day, how they are being metabolised and which detox pathways are active. This level of detail is simply not available from a GP blood test.
Can I get a DUTCH Test on the NHS?
The DUTCH Test is not available on the NHS. It is a specialist functional hormone test available privately. If you have been told your bloods are normal but continue to feel far from it, the DUTCH Test UK is often the next logical step.
