Almond and Flaxseed Porridge with Smashed Berries

Flaxseeds are a great source of lignans, which are phytoestrogens. And because they’re full of soluble fibre, they can also help regulate blood sugar and insulin levels.

Serves 1- Oestrogen Type

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp whole almonds

  • 1.5 tbsp flaxseeds

  • 250ml dairy-free milk

  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

  • 20g blueberries, smashed

  • 20g raspberries, smashed

Method

  1. Grind the almonds and flaxseeds in a spice grinder or blender, or use
    pre-ground flaxseeds and almonds.

  2. Place in a small pan with the milk and
    warm through on a medium to low heat, stirring regularly, for 5 minutes
    until thickened.

  3. Add the cinnamon and warm through for another minute.

  4. Finally, add the smashed berries and extra milk if desired.
